I wrote, pretty personally, for Mr Porter about how exercise, used well, can improve mental health. A strong body of science shows mood follows movement, or emotion follows motion. But I felt it important to caveat that exercise, though a powerful antidepressant, isn’t a magic pill and, used badly, can hurt your mind too. The piece is hopefully cheerier than it sounds.
