I interviewed Virgil Abloh for the cover of issue 52 of Sleek, published in January 2017, when he was just a glint in Louis Vuitton’s eye. Before we jumped in an Uber to the launch party for his brand Off-White’s collection with Matchesfashion.com, he took me shopping to Supreme, where we jumped the queue, and Palace. Surprisingly few people clocked the clout god walking among them.
